About Our Project

Albert’s Lyrebird and Marbled Frogmouth are restricted in geographical range, occurring in subtropical rainforest and associated vegetation types in northern NSW.   The majority of records for these species are recorded within our national parks. Little is known of their distribution across private lands.  Private land provides connecting habitat between national parks is important for species dispersal, the maintenance of geographical ranges and long-term survival prospects.

This project encourages landholders to help record sightings of one or both species to improve the fauna record. With this information, future projects can be planned and implemented to protect population strongholds and connecting corridors.

The Trails for Tails project is commencing now. If you have either Albert's Lyrebird or Marbled Frogmouth on your property, here's your chance to get involved and help secure the future of these species
